On June 12, 2025, the 4th China Africa Economic and Trade Expo opened in Changsha with the theme of “China Africa Joint Action Pursuing Dreams and Modernization”, attracting 4700 Chinese and African enterprises to participate and reaching a preliminary cooperation amount of over 11 billion US dollars.
As an important African country, Kenya’s Chief Cabinet Minister and Foreign Minister Mudawadi attended and delivered a speech. At the same time, Julius Sairou, Chief Commercial Officer of Kenya Airways, mentioned in an interview that Kenya is actively introducing the trend of cooperation with Chinese electric motorcycles.
Electrification trend:
Kenyan Airlines executives pointed out that electric vehicles are becoming a key focus of China Africa cooperation due to their ability to meet the forward-looking and sustainable development needs of African technology, and Chinese electric motorcycles are accelerating their penetration into the African market.
Economic and Trade Platform Promotion:
At the Expo, Chinese and African enterprises signed cooperation agreements involving the assembly of motorcycles and spare parts. Countries such as Nigeria, Rwanda, and Kenya reached a 1.65 billion yuan project with Chongqing enterprises, highlighting the key position of the motorcycle industry in China Africa capacity cooperation.
Dual empowerment model:
China provides technology, funding, and standards, while Africa provides market demand and employment opportunities, forming a collaborative industrial chain from traditional fuel powered motorcycles to electrification, promoting local industrialization and green transformation.
